Returns & Exchanges

We hope you love your item(s) purchased from Petit Bateau Australia.  

We understand that sometimes your purchase is not what you were expecting, and the size selected is incorrect.  We are therefore happy to provide an exchange or credit note on full priced items.  

Postage costs are not refundable and will be deducted from Invoiced amount.

We do not refund for change of mind, a credit note will be issued if you cannot exchange for another item(s).

No refunds or credit notes will be issued on discounted items except where an item(s) might be faulty or not as described.

Petit Bateau Australia will provide an exchange or credit note for full priced items that adhere to the below Terms and Conditions – Exchange or Returns.

Terms and Conditions – Returns & Exchanges:-

  • Proof of Purchase ie. store receipt or sales invoice must be provided for consideration.
  • Item(s) must be returned or exchanged within 14 days of receiving your order.
  • Item(s) must be unworn and in their original conditions with tags attached including original packaging.
  • Boxed products must be returned in undamaged packaging.
  • Item(s) must have been purchased from an Australian Petit Bateau store or from the Petit Bateau Australian on-line store.
  • Gift orders can only be exchanged, not refunded. No credit notes will be issued on Gift orders.
  • A credit note and/or exchange will not be granted for special offers or discounted item(s). So, please select carefully.
  • Underwear, swimwear and hosiery cannot be returned or exchanged due to health regulations.
  • Credit notes will be issued if an exchange is not possible on full priced items (except Gift orders)
  • For ease, gift vouchers will be issued instead of credit notes to on-line customers.  Gift vouchers can be used on-line or in-store.

Returns & Exchange Process

Please email petitbateau@buttonagency.com.au for a Return Address. 

Please quote your Invoice/Order Number in the subject line and state the reason for the return.

A member of our Customer Service team will be in contact with you once we receive your Return Application request.

Please note that return Postage and Handling costs will not be reimbursed.

An additional Postage and Handling costs of $12.50 (Australia-wide) will apply to replacement item(s).  This must be paid prior to the parcel being sent.

It is your responsibility to select a return postage option which includes a tracking number as we cannot take responsibility for parcels that do not arrive at the specified address.

If the requested exchange item(s) is not available or further payment is required for a different item(s), a member of our Customer Service team will contact you.

Refunds - Damaged or Faulty Item

Subject to Proof of Purchase, Petit Bateau Australia is happy to provide an exchange, credit note or refund on any purchase exhibiting a genuine manufacturing fault, ie. damaged/faulty item, unfit for the items intended purpose, significantly different from what was shown to you or in breach of manufacturer’s warranties or consumers guarantees.

Refunds are to be processed using the original tender type ie. credit card.  EFTPOS, refunds must be processed against the original card.  No cash refunds will be provided.  Customer name, address and contact number must be provided for all refunds. 

If you believed you have received a faulty item, please contact petitbateau@buttonagency.com.au so that we can arrange for the item to be returned for assessment or photos to be provided. If deemed faulty, you will be offered a refund or replacement.

Once your item is received and inspected, we will send you an email notifying you of our decision. In some instances, consultation with Petit Bateau Head Office may be required. We will notify you if this is necessary.

If the item is assessed as not faulty in the manufacturing, the item will be returned to you.

If approved, your refund will be processed immediately.  For some banking institutions, this return process may take a few days.

Can I Return My Online Order In-Store?

No, unless previously arranged.

Our on-line and in-store POS systems are not connected and our in-store staff are not able to issue a refund or credit note.  They can however accept items for return purposes only, which will then be passed onto Head Office for processing. 

Do I have to pay shipping costs for my returned item(s)?

Yes, you are required to pay for the return postage costs including tracking.  It is your responsibility to select a return postage option which includes tracking number as we cannot take responsibility for parcels that do not arrive. 

Can I return Sale Items

Sale items are final and cannot be returned for a refund or exchange, unless the garment is faulty.  Please refer to Damaged or Faulty Items.

Petit Bateau Australia reserves the right to reject items that do not comply with the above conditions and will return the items. 

Gift Orders

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you will only be able to exchange your gift.  Your delivery address will be required as proof of purchase as well as the gift giver’s full name.  No refund or credit note will be issued to the receiver of the gift.
